Who we are

VBU

Vereinigung Deutscher Biotechnologie-Unternehmen (Association of German Biotechnology Companies) is an federation of companies and institutions active in the fields of biotechnology and related sectors, such as pharmaceutical technology, diagnostics, medical and laboratory technology. VBU is the active interface between companies, scientific research institutions and networks, providing a platform for cooperation, communication and information.
Founded in 1996, VBU was the first organisation for biotechnology companies in Germany and is an integral part of the Biotechnology Section of DECHEMA.

DECHEMA

DECHEMA Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie (Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology) is a non-profit scientific and technical society. Its foremost task to promote and support research and technological progress in Chemical Technology and Biotechnology. Biology and technology converge in the Biotechnology Section of DECHEMA. Close cooperation between experts from research institutions and industry - one of DECHEMA's strong points - makes the border region between biology and technology a fertile ground for innovations.
With over 5,800 members - 1,800 alone from biotechnology - DECHEMA capitalises on the know-how of many experts. Diverse events offer information platforms on topical themes and novel scientific findings, triggering the exchange of ideas and experience among developers and end-users.
